Committees & Councils
RTG’s Committees and Councils include those listed below. Want to participate in a Committee or Council? Please contact RTG’s Executive Director, Tanya Sullivan.
Standing Committees
Public Policy Committee
The Public Policy Committee is tasked with assessing the impact of legislative and regulatory policy developments that stand to affect the operations of small, rural wireless carriers. This committee helps shape the association’s legislative and regulatory agendas and public policy initiatives in order to better serve the associations’ members.
Customer Solutions Committee
The Customer Solutions Committee is a forum for discussion of sales, billing, and consumer issues that may impact the bottom line of rural wireless carriers. The committee assists the association in identifying “best practices” and in identifying and promoting customer solutions that are optimal for rural wireless carriers.
Business Development and Finance Committee
The Business Development and Finance Committee works toward business development and financing solutions for rural wireless telecommunications carriers. The committee helps guide the association’s pursuit of public and private financing resources that benefit RTG’s carrier members.
Education Committee
The Education Committee guides the association in assessing its members’ educational needs. The committee provides educational programming and resource recommendations to RTG’s members.
Technology Committee
The Technology Committee guides the association and its members in assessing the impact of new and existing technologies upon rural wireless carriers and makes recommendations to the Board and members regarding technology policy and standards.
Councils
RTG’s specific-issue Councils are established by the Board. In contrast to the more generally focused standing committees, each Council serves as a narrowly focused information sharing and policy development forum for members interested in a specific technology, service, or issue. Councils may make recommendations to standing committees or to the Board regarding RTG’s involvement in such issues.
Councils include:
- Reseller Council
- Unlicensed Spectrum Council
- 700 MHz Council
- GSM Council
- CDMA Council
- Fair Roaming Alliance Council
