Roaming

“Roaming” is the term that describes a wireless phone’s ability to receive service outside a subscriber’s home service area. Roaming occurs when a subscriber of one wireless service provider uses the facilities or network of a second provider. The ability to have fair roaming agreements is critical to all wireless carriers. RTG advocates extending automatic roaming obligations to data services thereby making ubiquitous, nationwide mobile broadband a reality for rural consumers throughout the country.
